WHO ARE WE

StreetNet International is an organization of informal economy workers, with the goal to promote and leverage an autonomous and democratic alliance of informal traders in 56 countries.

Focused on defending rights and valuing and recognizing workers of the informal economy, it is boosted by its member organizations and acts on three fronts: advocacy, political training and strengthening informal economy workers.

The articulation between the actions developed by the organization have direct impacts: achieving and accessing human and economic rights by informal traders; amelioration of work and life structures (including topics such as health access, child care, safe workplaces, income security); structuring a critical thinking and class solidarity, which translates into conquering spaces of social dialogue and political incidence in countries at national and local level; and increasing the capacity of articulation focused on the formalization of informal economy, as stipulated in Recommendation 204 of ILO.
